Position Summary
The Client Services Support Volunteer plays a vital role in helping our clients stay connected, informed, and supported throughout their journey at Working Wardrobes. In this role, volunteers assist with outreach, administrative tasks, and in-person client support to ensure participants receive timely guidance and the resources they need to succeed.

Because this role involves direct client interaction and sensitive information, screening and approval are required prior to placement.

By signing up here, you are expressing interest in the role. Our team will review submissions and follow up to schedule a screening conversation.

Selected volunteers will later receive access to a private shift posting to officially sign up for recurring time slots.

Program Support

Screen program referrals and gather information to help determine appropriate program pathways and next steps

Support staff in aligning clients with appropriate services

Client Engagement & Outreach

Call or email clients to collect testimonials and feedback

Help capture success stories that reflect client growth and transformation

Administrative Support

Assist with basic clerical and organizational tasks

Help maintain accurate and up-to-date client records

We are seeking volunteers who can commit to one consistent weekly shift to ensure continuity and impact.

As a Personal Stylist Volunteer at Working Wardrobes, you'll play a key role in helping job seekers look and feel their best for interviews and workplace success. You'll provide personalized wardrobe services to empower clients with the confidence and self-esteem they need to succeed—all from our inspiring Wardrobe Center located in the Career Success Center in Santa Ana.

Create a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment for clients.

Review upcoming appointments and prepare clothing selections by size and style.

Work one-on-one with clients to coordinate professional and business casual outfits.

Assist with merchandising, seasonal updates, and inventory tasks to keep the Wardrobe Center fresh and functional.

Perform daily operations like tagging, labeling, processing go-backs, clearing dressing rooms, and updating displays.

18 years or older

Friendly, helpful, and compassionate

Comfortable standing for extended periods and able to lift up to 15 lbs

A strong communicator with a great sense of style and awareness of businesswear trends

Excited to engage with a diverse group of clients, staff, and volunteers

Special Wardrobing Events held throughout the year (Weekdays Only)

Weekly or biweekly availability (2–4 hours per week)

Shifts available Monday–Thursday, between 9 AM – 1 PM

Appointments typically last 1–2 hours

All new stylist applicants are required to attend an in-person informational interview and orientation. Please choose ONLY 1 date - there is no need to come to more than 1 orientation. Please note - while we do our best to place as many enthusiastic volunteers as possible, not all applicants will be selected. Our goal is to ensure the best fit and create a meaningful experience for everyone involved.

As a Donation Center Volunteer, you will be assisting in the heart of Working Wardrobes. There are two primary roles that our volunteers typically assume while helping out here: Donor Engagement & Quality Control.

Please note - we could use your support best on these shifts: 

Tuesday 9-12

Wednesday 9-12, 12-3

Thursday 9-12, 12-3

Friday 9-12, 12-3 

What you will be doing: 

Donor Engagement

You will be the first point of contact to incoming donors while offering a concierge-like service as they pull up with their donations. Your friendly smile and engaging disposition will welcome our donors while offering assistance with unloading their donations. This role takes place in the carport and donation center lobby. Tasks include:

Ability to push/pull/lift/carry up to 10 lbs and twist/bend at waist level required. Some comfortability speaking with the public and fluent English is recommended for this role.

Quality Control

You will be working to ensure that donations meet our high standards so that we can provide the best quality for our clients and retail stores. This role takes place inside the warehouse. Tasks include:

Ability to push/pull/lift/carry up to 10 lbs and twist/bend at waist level required. Ability to work independently and in small groups is recommended for this role.

We welcome minors (14 years and older) with a supervising adult and 16 years or older individually with legal guardian consent.

Safety Measures: Masks are optional. Gloves are recommended while handling donations and will be provided. Ability to push/pull/lift/carry up to 10 lbs and twist/bend at waist level required.

About the Role

Working Wardrobes is looking for additional volunteers to join our fabulous Front Desk/Administrative Support team at the Career Success Center. As a volunteer, you'll be the first point of contact for everyone who walks through our doors or calls our offices, providing a warm welcome to visitors and supporting our staff with various administrative and clerical tasks.

This role offers the chance to work closely with both our Administrative Manager and Volunteer Manager. We’re asking for a commitment of 4-5 hour shifts 1+ times per week for a minimum of 3 months. Volunteers 18 and older are welcome to sign up, and training will be provided. A professional phone demeanor, a passion for connecting with others, and strong listening skills make this the ideal opportunity for you!

Working Wardrobes has been invited by Affirmative Athletics to provide our signature Wardrobing Experience for a special cohort of high school–aged students at a local juvenile detention center. This meaningful opportunity allows volunteers to help young people prepare for future opportunities by building confidence through professional clothing and one-on-one encouragement.

During this event, volunteer Personal Stylists will be paired with a student and guide them through a pop-up wardrobing experience using clothing brought and set up by the Working Wardrobes team. Stylists help students select pieces that reflect professionalism, dignity, and personal style—creating a moment of confidence and possibility.

This is a powerful and rewarding experience for volunteers who want to make a direct impact.

Important Requirements

• All volunteers must complete a background screening conducted by the detention center
• Registration deadline: April 8
• The facility has strict security guidelines, including no cell phones permitted on site
• Additional details and instructions will be provided after registration

Training Requirement

Description:
Working Wardrobes’ annual Power Up for Success event is in collaboration with the Family Member Employee Assistance Program (FMEAP), hosting a MilSpouse Career & Hiring Symposium for 60–75 military spouses at Camp Pendleton.

We are seeking 30 volunteer Personal Stylists to help participants look and feel their best through our signature Wardrobe Experience. Volunteers will support clients with professional styling, outfit selection, and overall encouragement as they prepare for career opportunities.

This is an Interest Only posting. By signing up, you’re letting us know you’d like to be considered. Final assignments, roles, and shifts will be shared closer to the event.

Volunteer Roles Needed:

Personal Stylists (primary need)

Female volunteers preferred, as the majority of participants are expected to be women.
