Volunteer Career Coach (HR & Recruiting Professionals)

Are you an HR or recruiting professional looking to make a meaningful impact with your skills?
As a Volunteer Career Coach, you’ll work one-on-one with individuals navigating barriers to employment—including young adults and those reentering the workforce after justice involvement. Your guidance can be the turning point that helps someone land a job, rebuild confidence, and move forward.
This is a hands-on, relationship-driven opportunity where you’ll see real progress week to week.
What You’ll Do
·Coach clients weekly through 1:1 sessions (1.5 hours each)
- Support clients with one or more of the following:
- Resume development and ATS optimization
- Interview preparation
- LinkedIn setup and positioning
- Job search strategy
- Spend ~2 hours/week preparing and documenting progress in our CRM
- Build supportive, professional relationships with individuals navigating career transitions
Commitment
·Approximately 4-5 hours per week
· Consistent weekly availability with greatest needs on the following dates
- Monday (1 pm - 3 pm), OR
- Thursday (9am–12pm), OR
- Wednesday (flexible times)
- Minimum 6 months with preferred 1-year
Location
- In-person (Santa Ana) preferred
- Virtual (Zoom) opportunities available for the right fit
What You Bring
- Background in HR, recruiting, or career coaching
- Experience with resumes and applicant tracking systems (ATS)
- Strong communication skills and empathy
- Comfort working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including justice-impacted clients and young adults
