Who We Are

The Working Wardrobes Donation Center collects new and gently worn clothing and accessories for men & women. We receive thousands of donations weekly from individuals, community partners, and clothing brands eager to help make a difference in the lives of those we serve. These donations benefit our clients at our Wardrobe Center by providing clients the confidence that they need for an upcoming interview or are sold at one of our three retail stores, the Hanger Boutique and Hanger Outlets creating revenue that helps support our programming efforts.

Want to Donate? Donations are accepted Tuesday - Saturday 9am-3pm. We accept gently used and new clothing that is clean and on hangers. For safety and processing constraints, we cannot accept boxes or bags of clothing. Tax receipts are available.

We accept men's & women's professional, business casual, casual, and formal wear. Accessories like shoes, belts, handbags, and jewelry are also welcome.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I schedule a pickup?  We are only able to schedule pickups of large donations that are located within a 25-mile mile radius of our location in Irvine, CA. We do request a $100 donation to accompany any pickup to offset the cost of the fuel and maintenance on our truck. Please contact Janel at the Donation Center (714) 210-2460 to see if we are able to schedule a pickup.

Do you accept kids' clothing or toys?  At this time, we only accept adult men's and women's clothing and accessories such as shoes, bags, belts, and jewelry.

Do you accept housewares?  We do accept new or gently used blankets. We cannot accept furniture or housewares at this time.

What items do you not take?  We cannot accept used undergarments, used socks, used sleepwear, or used swimwear. Undergarments, socks, sleepwear, or swimwear that is new with tags or in a package is fine.

What We Do

Volunteer opportunities at the Donation Center include:

  • Donor Engagement – accepting clothes and accessories from donors at the front of the warehouse, checking in donors, and sorting clothes. This role does interact with the public.
  • Quality Control – inspecting clothing and accessories to ensure they meet our quality control standards; ensuring clothes are on the appropriate hangers; categorizing items for distribution.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to push/pull/lift/carry up to 10lbs.
  • Must be able to twist/bend at waist level.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time with occasional break.
  • We welcome minors, 14 years and older, with a supervising adult and 16 years or older individually with legal guardian consent.

You will have a direct impact by processing a client's future interview suit or a customer's new favorite pair of shoes! The Donation Center volunteers play a key role in the success of our operations. We couldn't do it without you!

Also a great opportunity for groups and corporate social responsibility (CSR) days!
